Stepping Forward
Long-term success is achieved step-by-step. For several years now, Anna Jaques has had the long-view in our sights and has made great strides in taking our offerings to the next level. This allows us to better serve patients where they are, provide the latest in technology and procedures available today, and stay competitive.
Now a part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, our path forward in fiscal year 2019 involved undertaking several key capital projects that will advance our ability to attract and retain more patients locally, and nurtures our rich history of caring for our community.
One of our major initiatives – and one that reflects the theme of this year’s Annual Report -- is the launch of the Stepping Forward Campaign to expand surgical services and renovate the main entrance. Thanks to our community’s generous support, this community-based campaign has generated more than $3 million towards the $7 million cost of adding two operating rooms and name the new hospital entrance the Helen and Byron J. Matthews Main Entrance.
Our future need for additional operating rooms follows the launch of the New England Baptist Orthopedics program. After months of close collaboration with the Baptist team, Anna Jaques is one of the first hospitals in the Beth Israel Lahey Health system to adopt the New England Baptist model of care which further strengthens our already robust orthopedics program.
Another initiative involved a $1 million investment in the Comprehensive Pain Center which was under construction much of the year to co-locate all aspects of pre-and post-surgical procedures into one location on the first floor.
Most recently, we built and opened Beth Isarel Lahey Health Primary Care in Seabrook with two providers as part of our geographical expansion into southern New Hampshire.
In FY19 we proudly cared for about 10,000 people overnight, 27,000 people in our Emergency Room, and another 200,000 in outpatient settings. While shifts in the health care delivery system to urgent care and outpatient settings continue to impact our hospital, Anna Jaques is poised for growth as we expand access and add services locally.
As we continue to move forward together, in lockstep with our community, we remain grateful for your unwavering support and for choosing our hospital for your family’s health care.
